Finally someone shows sense

The Register reports that Sony is about to launch a P2P music swapping network . Basically, it seems that if you buy your music from Sony, you'll be able to trade it with other users of their subscription service. Their downloads will probably be more expensive since a portion of the payment will go into a royalty based kitty from which artists will be paid a sum for the file sharing arrangement. This definitely is a big step forward towards a rational solution of the digital media distribution problem.
